The Pirate Tarot Mandala is a way to present concepts related to the Pirate archetype and Pirate Psychology. It provides a systematic approach to examining a multiplicity of elements that make up the complex that surrounds the image of the Pirate and how this can be applied to a greater understanding of the Pirate archetype. The Pirate Tarot Mandala addresses the full spectrum of human concerns that range from the physical to the metaphysical. It is a type of Map of Consciousness -- A Map of the Mystic Bootye.

The Pirate Tarot Mandala: Key to the Treasure of the Mystic Bootye

A mandala is visual meditation.

Utilizing the Pirate Tarot Mandala facilitates the growth of awareness in various areas of personal, psychosocial, and philosophical development that affect the individual when (re)viewed through the "lens" of the Pirate archetype.

In the  Pirate Tarot Mandala you see the Cards of the Pirate Tarot of the Mystic Bootye, arranged according to the design of the Skeleton Key and superimposed on a pattern of concentric colored circles. These spheres correspond to different states of consciousness and/ or levels of experience (see chart below). Except for the FOOL (Card 0), and JUSTICE (Card XI) in the center, each of the various colors identifies four cards that relate to that particular experience. The challenge is to use these cards as a means of self-revelation.

Insight results when the Cards are examined in detail, utilizing the symbols to stimulate introspection as it relates to individual life experience. Note: Historically, Western psychology has been concerned with the lower chakras that focus on physical, social, and intellectual concerns. The Mandala offers an opportunity to explore greater areas of human potential.

During meditation the following correspondences are suggested:

Here is a brief example of how the Mandala mandala may be utilized to explore the Orange/Social level of functioning. The four Cards used in this exercise are:

Inner Above: Card V The HIEROPHANT
Outer Below; Card VI The LOVERS
Inner Below: Card XVI The TOWER
Outer Above: Card XVII The STAR

Examining these four Cards creates a medium to reflect your thoughts and feelings about social relationships. This will be of value in developing a conceptual understanding of your unique experience of socialization. As projected parts of the self, the images in these Cards may be seen to represent various aspects of the following:

The HIEROPHANT: planning, preparing, and developing your social engagements and vocational goals. In The HIEROPHANT one may seek to get in touch with the value of relationships that are worth pursuing, or not, and a strategy for interacting with others to obtain what you love, and doing what you love to do (The Treasure).

The LOVERS: relates to what you value the most in intimate relationship(s). Being engaged in pursuing what you love gives meaning to life. The Quest for the Mystic Bootye is the quest to be in relationships that fulfill this need. Love is an important quality in obtaining a fully satisfactory sense of social adjustment.

The TOWER: represents  things that you cherish and want to protect, opportunities, as well as the dangers of a fall from social grace.
The STAR: reveals your ultimate hopes and dreams of success.

Every level of consciousness has its own dynamics and covers a broad spectrum of human concerns. It is suggested that to derive the most value from this exercise, examine each Card, look at the symbolism, and begin to get a sense of how these symbols make you feel, think, or relate to the issues in your life. They address archetypal concerns to which Everyone can relate. Tease-out a further depth of meaning. The Pirate Tarot Mandala is a useful guide to a greater understanding of the Self in a piratical environment.

Pirate Therapy is a method for learning how these and many more core concepts in psychology may aid you in learning about yourself and achieving your goals.
